Expenses for Surrey’s Green City Fund

On June 12 I asked the City of Surrey what’s been done with the Green City Fund from 2010-2014. On July 24 they got back to me! Here’s the page they sent me: 14-136 records. It accounts for about $950K/yr. They used the money for planting trees, reforestation, and education. Cool! I’m really glad they were able to put this together for me.

Now my job is to go through the rest of the years of development applications to count the money the developers say they’ll put into the green city fund. Oh boy. But first I have to finish my analyses of amount of habitat lost or saved, minus the agricultural lands. But before that I need to finish reading the city’s biodiversity plan.
